OSHA 10-HOUR
GENERAL INDUSTRY SAFETY & HEALTH TRAINING COURSE
This course is designed to provide
an initial and basic overview of key OSHA Construction Safety
Standards. It is important to remember that this course provides
only the basics on Occupational Safety. The course is designed
for both the worker and novice safety professional.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
Research and interpret applicable OSHA regulations from the Code
of Federal Regulations (CFR)
Understand the following regulations: Hazardous (Chemical Safety)
Communications, Means of Egress and Fire Protection, Electrical Safety & Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous
Materials Storage, Fall Prevention Scaffolding Safety and Confined Space.
The mandatory topics for the OSHA 10 class are:
Introduction to OSHA, OSH Act, General Duty Clause, General Safety
and Health Provisions, Competent Person
Electrical and Lockout/Tagout
Material Handling, Storage Use and Disposal
Fall Protection
Excavation
Hazard Communication
Personal Protective Equipment
Other topics that will be covered are:
Stairways and Ladder Safety
Scaffold Safety Awareness
Tools-Hand and Power Safety
Confined Space Entry
